Candid, relaxed & joy-filled wedding photography

I believe the best photos come from feeling comfortable with each other. That’s why I really like getting to know my couples before the wedding. It doesn’t need to be anything formal, just a chance to chat and connect. Sometimes that’s over a call, sometimes it’s a few WhatsApps back and forth, or even just swapping the odd Instagram message. However it happens, it makes such a difference on the day.

When we’ve already had those conversations, the camera doesn’t feel like this big, awkward thing in the middle of it all. You’ll know who I am, how I work, and that you can just get on with having the best day without worrying about the photos. I’m not going to be barking instructions or asking you to pose in ways that feel uncomfortable. Instead, I’ll be there in the background, noticing the moments that unfold naturally.

My job is to make sure you can forget about the camera and focus on what actually matters, being present, soaking it all up, and celebrating with the people you love. The photos take care of themselves when you’re relaxed, and that’s exactly how I want it to feel for you.

“From the moment we met Ian, we knew he was the perfect photographer for our wedding. We were looking for someone who could not only capture our day beautifully but also bring the energy and enthusiasm of a true hype man to make us feel comfortable and relaxed – and Ian delivered on every front! He made us feel completely at ease and worked with us to ensure all the shots we wanted were covered

We couldn’t recommend Ian highly enough, he truly made our wedding day unforgettable. Thank you, Ian, for your talent, energy, and dedication”

Why I love photographing modern weddings across London and the UK

Since 2013, I’ve been lucky enough to photograph weddings across London and the UK, from intimate elopements in London iconic town halls to high-energy celebrations that went on till the wee small hours. I’ve witnessed the quiet anticipation of a first look, the joyful chaos of confetti drifting across the steps of a Town Hall, and dancefloors that went on till the wee small hours. No two days are ever alike, and that is exactly what I love about them.

The venue may change, the ceremony may change, but the heart of a wedding is always the same. It’s celebrations of love, the people, the joy, the hugs and the glances. It’s getting lost in the music with your friends, the speeches that have everyone roaring with laughter, and the teary words that take you by surprise. It’s the quiet smiles, the big belly laughs, the hug from a mate you haven’t seen in years, and that look you give each other when it suddenly sinks in that you’re married. Those are the moments that tell the real story of your day, and they’re the ones you’ll hold onto when you look back through your gallery.

"We're so happy we picked Ian to photograph our wedding – we're over the moon with the photos and couldn't have asked for a more lovely person to be part of our big day!

Ian's fun energy rubs off on everyone around him, and he fit in so well with everyone that he felt like another friend... our bridal party are still raving about what an all-around great guy Ian is!"
